Todd & Emily’s Epic Equine Proposal – Australian Equine Photographer
As a photographer capturing those timeless moments is my passion, it’s what makes me love my job each and every day and brings a smile to my face. So when Todd approached me to capture his proposal to his beautiful partner Emily to say I was overjoyed is an understatement. It was going to be amazing!
Organising everything was no small ordeal, there were so many factors to consider and so many people to coordinate to create exactly what Todd had in mind. From the start it was clear that Emily’s horse Xander would be part of the special day, and that Todd would be riding across the country side on a 4 wheeler to meet Emily. The perfect location was chosen at Pretty Sally Riding Ranch, where Emily keeps her horse.
The only thing left was how to convince Emily to dress up for the occasion without her knowing what was to come. You may recognise Emily from a photoshoot we did with Xander early last year, so when I asked her to model a new dress for me she was more than willing. Perfect!
On the day itself it was quite drizzly and cold and multiple times I was asked by Emily if we were going ahead in the rain or if I wanted to put of the session until a nicer day, I’m sure at the time Emily was not overly impressed with me. Thankfully by that afternoon the rain had moved on and it was time to start.
The session started like any other, featuring Emily & Xander and there indescribable bond, slowly we moved Emily into position and waited. Shortly after the sound of the 4 wheeler could be heard, and everyone fake their confusion. But Emily’s confusion was well and truly real, why Todd suddenly appeared made absolutely no sense whatsoever, until Todd was down on one knee professing his love.
And of course SHE SAID YES!
We wish the couple a lifetime of happiness and devotion, with so many amazing memories to come over future years. It was an honour and a blessing to capture such amazing memories for you to pass down for generations.
